About the Murphs

We are The Brothers Murph! We are Los Angeles based, real life brothers (people ask) and we absolutely adore board games. Mike is the taller, brown haired one and is three years older than Nick, who is the blonde one. We started playing board games a little over a decade ago when Nick’s then girlfriend introduced us to Pandemic. We immediately fell in love with board games. Over the next couple of years we bought a couple more games and dipped our toes a little more. Around 7 years ago Nick started watching reviews of board games on YouTube, then he found BoardGameGeek, and then it was all over. There was no going back, we dived in head first and never looked back. A couple years after The Dive we saw Tom on The Dice Tower ask for contributors for the variety show Board Game Breakfast. We had been looking for something creative to do, and this was a perfect little side project to do. And…people really liked our segment. After 6 months or so we decided to start our own channel. And 5 years later, here we are. This has been our full time job for a few years now, and it’s been absolutely amazing!

A little about us individually:

Mike is an actor and came down to LA (we’re from Northern California) for acting. He started acting in high school, and acted all throughout college. He went to UCLA where he got his degree in theater. If you’ve watched the UFC in the last few years you probably saw him all the time in a Toyo Tires commercial. He has an awesome wife name Karyn and a beautiful baby daughter named Logan

Nick is an artist who came down to LA to be with Mike, the Murphs are not supposed to be separated. Most of his time in LA was spent working at a rehab facility for drugs and alcohol. He has done art off and on throughout the years, but really found his passion and style in art in the last few years. Aside from that he enjoys minipainting, reading, and probs some other stuff.
